For simple family fun around the house, you might want to buy a low cost, starter table - and decide later if you want to upgrade to a more expensive table. Prices reflect not only the quality of the table but also its usage. For example - tables that are frequently used and can take a lot of hits - cost more, as do tables that can be stored in tight spaces or those that have to withstand the outside elements.

The top of the range tables are for the really serious players who want a true bounce to the table - to add that competitive edge to their game.
